At Frontier, we strive to make boarding feel like your pet’s home away from home. Despite our best efforts, boarding can be stressful for your pet, however there are some simple things you can do to make adjusting to their stay at our pet hotel much easier!
#1 Bring your pet’s food. This is by far the best way to make your pet comfortable while boarding. Diet changes are very stressful for pets and not eating can even create medical problems during boarding. This is so important that we now charge $3/day to feed hospital food. Avoid the additional charge and make your pet happy by bringing their food from home! Just make sure you bring the right amount of food for the length of their stay.
#2 Bring all medications and supplements your pet takes regularly in their original packaging or prescription bottles, and ensure the directions on the label are correct. If your doctor has changed the directions since prescribed, clearly write the current instructions in your pet’s boarding paperwork.
#3 Bring familiar toys or items that smell like you and your home. Be sure that these are things it is safe to leave with your pet unsupervised (ie only bring items you would feel safe leaving at home with your pet while you are out for the day).
