Dr. Yelena Kryukova

Dr. K joined our team in February 2022.

Dr. Yelena Kryukova received her veterinary degree from Saint Petersburg State Academy of Veterinary medicine, Russia in 2000, followed by a PhD degree in Physiology from Saint Petersburg State University. Soon after that, Dr. Kryukova moved to the US and got engaged into a biomedical research career working as a Research Scientist at the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York for 12 years. After moving to Oregon, Dr. Kryukova returned to the field of Veterinary Medicine and completed Veterinary Education Equivalency Program (PAVE) at Oklahoma State University in 2016. Dr.Kryukova worked at privately owned and corporately owned hospitals prior to joining Frontier Veterinary Hospital in early 2022.

Dr.Kryukova medical interests include preventative, geriatric and palliative care, internal medicine and soft tissue surgery, as well as challenging emergency cases. She has a particular interest in managing dental disease and advocating for regular preventative oral care.

  • Do you have any nicknames? I usually go by “Dr.K”  – I prefer not to challenge people to pronounce my last name.
  • What is your job at Frontier? Nothing special, just doing my dream job 🙂
  • Why did you decide to work at Frontier? Wonderful staff, dedicated owners.
  • Do you have any pets? White cat – Musya, black cat – DumDum, Marshmallow and Cookie the guinea pigs, few fish tanks with tropical fish.
  • Tell us a little known fact about you! I have several pier-reviewed research publications.
