Meet Lisa, one of our Technician Assistants. Lisa has worked at Frontier since February 2017.
Do you have any nicknames?
Most of my friends and family call me Lee or Liss. Sometimes people call me Mama Lisa too!
In your words, what is your job at Frontier?
Most days I work as an IPTA, which stands for, inpatient technician assistant. I am responsible for helping the CVT’s and DVM’s on days we have patients scheduled for surgical procedures. Some of the duties I perform are inputting the patient’s surgical paperwork into their file, setting up the surgical tables, patient care, cleaning, re stocking, wrapping surgical packs, and performing patient discharges. I love my position here at Frontier, my favorite part about being an IPTA is the bond I am able to build with each patient. My goal is to make sure that every patient feels safe, that they are comfortable and given the best care while with us. I also really enjoy getting to know the clients during the surgical discharges.
Why did you decide to work at Frontier?
I had worked in a veterinary clinic in Colorado, and when we moved to Oregon, I wasn’t sure about what I should do. I became a client at Frontier first, but after meeting Dr. Yung and the rest of the staff here, I knew if I was going to stay in the veterinary field, this would be the clinic I would want to be a part of. The staff here is so amazing, and everyone truly loves what they do. It is wonderful to come to work every day and love what you are doing and truly enjoy all your co-workers.
Do you have any pets?
I have two pets. We have an amazing grey and white kitty named Tweek. He is ten years old and loves dogs; he acts like a dog too! He sits for treats and comes like a dog when you call his name. Last but not least, our lil man Ernie. Ernie is a mixed breed; he is really unique looking with a reddish blond coat white markings, he is almost two years old and is super goofy and loveable. They are a pretty funny crew, and they make smile every day.
Tell us a little-known fact about you!
I am originally from Nyack, NY; I moved to Florida in my 20’s for a year. After Florida I moved back to NY for awhile, then I moved to Las Vegas, Nevada. I was only in Vegas for six months when I decided to move to Colorado. I fell in love with Colorado; I lived there for 15 years, I met my husband in year 7. My husband had a job opportunity in Oregon, so we decided we should go for it. Three and a half years later we are still in Oregon and loving it. We still miss Colorado, but we really love it here, so I think we will be here for awhile. So there you have it, I am a bit of a gypsy:) and I love west coast living!
