Animals have various nutritional requirements depending on their age, breed and health status. Decisions regarding your pet’s nutrition should not be made without first consulting a veterinarian. Geriatric animals have significantly different requirements than young growing puppies or kittens. Animals with diabetes or kidney disease also have different requirements. Your veterinarian will be able to make informed decisions regarding your pet’s choice of diet given their age, breed and health status. At Frontier Veterinary Hospital, we have two fulltime nutrition specialists who work with you, your pet and the veterinarian to make sure you have all the information, support and resources you need to assist with this very important part of good health maintenance.
